A soaking rain helps the garden grow

Beets

Beans

Corn

Sunflowers

My first hot pepper

My first sweet peppers

My first big tomatoes

My first small tomatoes
The garden this time of year boggles the mind with how much it changes day to day.  Everything is so lush and green.  When it rains, like it did last night - a hard pouring rain - you can see visible growth in the plants over the next couple of days.  I recently read this quote, which sums up how I felt as I laid in bed last night listening to the rain beat the roof:

"Weather means more when you have a garden. There's nothing like listening to a shower and thinking how it is soaking in around your green beans. ~Marcelene Cox"
